I did not want to run this evening.
It was/is very cold out.
It was/is very windy.
There is snow and black ice on the roads and the trail is completely snow covered.
In addition to that, I am sore from the P90X3 workouts and shoveling the driveway last night.
So I was laying in bed coming up with all the reasons not to run and instead ride my bike on the trainer inside tonight.
I texted my sister, who is doing a couch to 5k program, and she said 'if you are used to running outside in this weather and ran outside this week already, you should just go.'
I read that and my mind started to change, crazy but I started to think I could just do a quick run, like 4 miles and be done, but I kept laying here listening to the wind blowing.
Then it happened at about 3:45pm, I received another text from my sister, this time:

Me not feeling it, she still just talking to me about doing it.
So I got up, got dressed and went to run, yes it was now probably colder and almost dark but I was going to get this dam run in.
THANKS SISTER :)
It would also give me a chance to wear my new Yaktrax for running on trails in the snow and ice.
The run ended up being fine, I over dressed - I just have not had enough frigid days to know what to wear. The Yaktrax made the run easy with regards to slipping. Not sure if it was the trax or the extra socks but my shoes felt tighter. Overall, I was happy to have them on.
Not my fastest run, but it was on a snow covered trail and with tired legs - yes, excuses, I know :)
The rest of my week has been good on the workout side, I have been up at 4:20am each morning and the workouts have been high intensity. I did a run on Monday instead of Tuesday because the weather forecast was for snow and we got it, so a good move.
The nutrition has been good as well, following the 21 day fix program. Today was difficult because work celebrated January birthdays, so I had a small piece of cake. I had a tough time on Tuesday because I was very hungry about 1 hour after dinner and my snack was not enough to satisfy me.
I need to drink more water, I am at about 3/4 of a gallon per day, I need to get back to 1.5 gallons a day, I never felt dehydrated when I drank this much. Right now I feel dry and a little dehydrated, so I will try to up the water intake.
Overall, it has been going well.
Decide. Commit. Succeed.
