a long year

Been a year since I posted something, been using twitter and instagram to keep updated in cyberworld. Had a good 2016 for fitness, first time in my life I ran every month. I took the last 2 weeks of December off from running and started up swimming again. 2017 - planning on staying focused to all fitness for a year including the nutritional side of things. Yes, it is a crazy idea but gonna try and commit and succeed this time. Part of that is staying with cross training, swimming, beach body and yoga. Never have a problem with January - March, it is the other 9 months of the year that kill me. I stop swimming because it is nice out, but I swim at 5am when i wouldn't do anything outside anyway. Stop doing beach body workouts because it is nice outside, the ones I do now are 30 or 22 minutes long, really?!?! Oh wait, the gardening get in the way - just stop. Wine and Dine Recap

It has been awhile since we ran the Mickey's Jungle Jingle and the Wine and Dine Half Marathon, but a snow day is always helpful in getting out the recap. Here we are at the airport in Philly waiting to board the plane on Thursday, Nov. 7. The flight was smooth and our driver was waiting at MCO to take us to Saratoga Springs. We had a great dinner our first night at Disney in Paris at Monsieur Paul's . The food was incredible and the desert was even better. Friday, we went straight to the Expo. I did not want to take a chance of not getting the shirts I wanted, specifically the Coast to Coast shirt. It turns out they did sell out of the shirt, as someone who did not get one let me know on Sunday. I got another great shirt. And we picked up our bibs . Friday night, I planned early enough to get us some tickets to the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ( MVMCP ). We had a blast, this was our third party, first without children. Run training

I finally started training again. My next event is Shamrock Weekend March 15, 2014. 16 weeks out so it was a good time to start. However, the weather decided to turn into winter. You see it, feels like 15 currently and I ran 2 hours ago so take about 8 degrees off. Windy and cold is not the way to start a new training plan, but I decided and I did it. Click on this picture to check out all the details. It is one of the best planned races and best after run party on the beach. My 2 daughters, 9 & 10, are running the 8k for the second straight year. Since the Wine and Dine, I took some time off to let the body heal up - I hope. The past week, I started swimming in the morning again and got a good 4 - 1 mile swims in. I also began to focus on my nutrition again. I am slowly removing the bad food from my daily intake and should be clean in about 2-3 weeks. I know it will be tough over Thanksgiving weekend, but I will stay focused and do my best. Recap will be coming soon...
