Let me start by saying my mother has brainwashed me into being a Disney fanatic, thanks mom, r.i.p. I am running the 5k Buzz and Woody Family Fun Run on Friday Jan. 7 and the 1/2 Marathon on Saturday Jan. 8, then it is park time for my birthday on Jan. 9.
I flew out Thursday Jan. 6 from ABE, Joey drove me to the airport, I was up nice and early, 5am, packed and got in his truck when he pulled up. It was a cool morning but warm for us low was only 14. I carried on all I needed, what a great bag from the Steelman Tri. No problems at the screening waited to board, had a window seat for the flight to NC.
Flight was smooth and fast, now a 2-hour layover...so lets have a beer and a bite to eat. I know that I have trained for the run and have lost some weight in preparation for the run, but its not like I am trying for a personal best plus its my birthday weekend, starting now.
2 hours pass, time to get on the plane, maybe I shouldn't have had that last brew, bladder is killing me. It is also hot on the plane, myself and the gentleman next to me comment about the sauna, at least I will sweat it all out before landing.
MCO, Orlando airport, no problems, been here plenty of times before, go right to the Magical Express, get on with a very minimum wait. On my way to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Get to resort around 3pm, the room is ready but the internet check-in line is not, longest I have ever seen this line. Usually walk up service, turns out the night crew from Wednesday, printed out all the wrong ressies(Fridays). Get through this and off to room, drop bag, now pick-up bus to the Expo to pick-up race packets for myself and the Covelles.
The Expo is nice, but they are already out of my size, which for this merchandise, turns out to be a medilarge, thats right not medium but not large, so I purchase all large stuff, because I get fat.
Get a nice shirt, hat and pint glass.
The 1/2 is a Donald race, moms favorite character, the medal is awesome.
AS you can see, I wore the Conquer Cancer shirt and ran with mom in my heart. Miss and love you.
