SuperBowl 10K

Lehigh Valley Road Runners put on another excellent race yesterday. To me it seemed as though the field was thinner than last year, but definitely faster :) It could have felt thinner because there was no snow on the ground that forced a modified course. The course was in great shape and the weather was perfect. The hills were good and due to running a hilly 5 mile trail run on saturday, I really felt it in the hammies on the second half of the run. Thanks Dr. Tony.

I had a solid 46:46 finish, a bit slower than last year but I felt better and had the 5 mile run on saturday. I would say that I am in perfect position for where I want to be training wise. The only running event that I am training for this year is the Shamrock on March 17 in Va Beach. Was going to skip it this year but the girls want to run in their 1 miler down there, so we are going again - but it is such a great time.

I am scaling back my run races and my triathlons this year in the hopes of having a healthy spring and summer. Two years of stress fractures in the femor is not fun. I am also changing up my supplements to hopefully address the fracture issue.

Since I am only running 1 race and only doing 1 tri this year, I will be trying some distance swims. The first is at the end of June, a swim around the Statue of Liberty. Then a 3 miler in July in Qtown and possibly a 10K in NY down the Hudson. So I will still get my fill of competition.

Keep on training.
