Does turning 40 mean that you need to use more ice in your life? Well for me the answer is yes. It looks a lot worse than it is. The right leg is preventative icing, for the knee, it was sore for several days so I decided to ice it everyday, run or not. It did the job and the knee feels great, I am only icing after running now.
The left leg, well that is a different story, I thought I had a shin splint, so I was icing after every run. But that wasn't making it feel much better. After a bit more research, it could be that I have a stress fracture in my shin - I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I had not ben taking a vitamins and my nutrition was bad. THe last 2 weeks have been better, the leg does not hurt at all, so 3 weeks of icing helped.
Keep on Training.
