Yes, it has been 18 days since the race and I am just getting around to posting about it. The weekend was awesome, the girls and I had a blast. Dr. Tony and Dr. Trish, http://www.coopersburgfamilychiropractic.com/, joined us and also had a good time. The weather was perfect on Friday, sunny and warm - we were on the beach and in the ocean.
Saturday it began really nice for the race, but then an ocean breeze cooled things off, a lot, like a 15 degree drop, so not much beach time. The girls had a nice mile race and this year stayed together the entire run.
We stayed right at the finish line, which was right on the beach, great place and convenient. Sunday was the Drs. and I race, we were ready to go and it was a warm start, well relatively speaking. (lots warmer than last year)
Dr. Tony and I ran together the entire race, we had a great run up until mile 9, Dr. Tony decided he wanted cramps in his quads. We managed to make it thru, several beer stops helped, to the end and finished in 1:52. Dr. Tony hit his main goal of under 2:00 but we missed our ultimate goal of 1:35, although we were on pace up through mile 10.
More pics to follow later.
Keep on training.
