Disneyland California, January - great temperatures and sun :)
Wife and I arrived in LA to beautiful weather, as you can see it the picture above. We visited our god daughter - first to see her place in LA, and did some sightseeing on the first day in.
This half is the first part of my Coast-to-Coast race, part of the runDisney series. I will be running the Wine and Dine in Disney World in November.
I decided to dress for this run, ever since the Santa run, I seem to be interested in dressing up for my run events. I wore the shirt in honor of my Mother, who turned me into the Disney fanatic that I am. This picture was taken at 4am.
The race started near Disneyland Hotel and took us around to the front entrance of Disneyland. Running through DL was fun but a bit crowded. As this is a women's themed and oriented race, men could not start past Corral C, so yes there were lot of slow women in front of us. But this was not as bad as I had worried.
I tried to video the entire race, unfortunately, my angle was off and the video is not worth posting.
Here are some of the pictures that I took.
Carsland just recently opened, it was really cool to see it. And I could not resist a picture in front of the wheel.
I ran the first 5 miles in an hour and the next 8 miles in 59 minutes, it felt good and the weather was perfect.
Here is my best attempt at a picture at the finish.
And here is a picture with my medal, yes it is the proof, but I did purchase it, it just has not arrived yet, well the link to download has not arrived. Maybe I will update it when it comes through.
Overall, it was a great weekend. The expo was for women only so that kind of sucked. The set-up at the packet pick-up was horrible. I came from the park and there were no signs anywhere, must have walked around for about 15 minutes. After the race we met up with family, Uncle Bob, Aunt Sheree, Julia, Adam, Uncle Danny, Rachel went to lunch and spent time hanging out at the beach.
It was a great trip and great weather.
