Another great weekend and event put on by J & A Racing. They never let us down with a great event, from a wonderful website, good communications, awesome Expo and Shamrock items, to a prefect course and incredible after race celebration.
This year I decided not to run, not take the weekend trip to Va Beach for the race. I shared this with the family in September, they almost had heart attacks. As a result they told me they wanted to run the 8k. Yes, my 8 and 9 year old daughter wanted to run the 8k and more shocking was my wife saying she would do it also.
So, I signed them up for the 8k and I registered for the Half. In December, my wife was very concerned about only her running with the girls and asked me to run the 8k also. I went online and was lucky enough to get a spot, so I was now registered for the Dolphin. Turns out this was the best thing that could of happened, in February, my wife injured her knee and would not be able to run in March.
The girls were great, we used the run 1/2 a mile, walk 1/2 a mile and it was a great run. Here we are waiting to start, it was a colder weekend than we had the last few years.

It rained a little on us and was very windy. But all said, we had a great run.

With the exception of the delayed start, the Half was a great run again. I started with some facial hair, but my sweat wouldn't allow it to stay on.
It rained the entire ride home on Monday, but it was well worth it. This is a great family weekend.
I already registered the family for the 8k and I am running the Half again.
See you in March 2014.
