Wk 2

Week at a glance:

Week 1 in review:

Workouts Grade = A-; Hit every workout for the week. All but 1 was high effort, I was really sore and tire for CVX.

Nutrition Grade = C+; Nutrition was good M-W(small piece of birthday cake on Wednesday. Thursday was good, Friday was not, some stress eating and it was bad food (2 donuts). Saturday was not good, slept in so day was off and that made nutrition off, made it through the swim meet but once home was very hungry and ate poorly - a bowl of cereal. I tried to drink water hoping that would erase the hungry feeling but all that did was cause me to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes or so. I drank about 1.5 gallon from 5:30pm - 8:00pm.
Might be grading myself hard on nutrition but that is where I need to make the most gains.

No Beer/No Sugar = B+; had the cake and cereal but no beer.

Be a better spouse = B+; did more of what I would like to receive.

Reflection on week:
Overall, I am pleased with the week. I need to adjust my nutrient as the T-TH-Sat menu did not satisfy and I was starving on those days. I enjoyed everything I planned on eating and other than Friday stuck to the diet and the timing. Need to work on the second group of meals.

Workouts were good, sticking to the same routines this week. If I feel good on an open evening then I will add a bike routine.

It was also my birthday week and I was looking back on my first time through P90X, it was 11 years ago this month that I began and completed my first round of P90X. It changed my life. I was always athletic and played flag football and softball but after going through the 'X', I picked up triathlons and running and focused on being active and fit all year. I have enjoyed all of the events that P90X opened to me - swimming from Alcatraz to SF, completing a Half Marathon, a Half Triathlon and an Ironman. Skydiving, participating in new year polar bear events, Disney runs including a Coast-to-Coast, the Shamrock run where my girls now run the 8K with me, open water swims around the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson river, working out with Tony Horton, VIA LV Relay Marathon.

Of course there are also the amazing new friends have made from all over the country, some I have kept in touch with others have gone our separate ways. Those that have stuck around have encouraged me and been a part of all aspects of my life, the birth and naming of my girls, the death of my mother and the excitement of new jobs and athletic accomplishments. Thanks Kathy, Nina, Rebecca, John, Dr. Tony, Traci, Tony H, Eric.

Looking forward to a great 2015 to share and grow - and by grow I mean losing weight and shrinking.
