I missed a few weeks of posts and will do my best to catch up.
Goals have been kept, I am going with a new format on the blog because well its March, almost April.
I stuck to my training through the Yuengling Half Marathon this past weekend. The event is one of the best around, great course and better atmosphere. J&A racing do an amazing job.

Spring races are always tough and this year we had plenty of cold, snowy and icy weather. Of course mother nature saved the worse weather for the 2 weeks prior to the race. I felt good with my training and was ready to go.
Race weekend was good running weather and Avery had her best 8K time ever and was not sore the next day. Her friend was running her first ever 8K and did great, she and I used the run/walk method and finished in 1:02 - great for her.
Unfortunately, the weekend did not go as planned for me, I was fortunate enough to catch the stomach bug on Thursday and it hung around for the weekend. You know it was bad considering I did not consume any free beer?!?!?!?!?! yes the main reason I love this race so much is the live bands and free beer (YUENGLING) in the tent for the after run party.

I toughed it out - or I was stupid and still tried to hit my goal of a 1:38 half. I was on pave through 6 miles, running a 7:26 mile pace, then through 9 miles I was still on target with a 7:27 pace...then it hit, the dehydration caught up to me, I got sick on the course and struggled to finish. Crossed the finish line, went right to my room and laid in bed. I believe I had a fever as well on Saturday night.
At least I had a cool hat:
Every time I ate any food on Saturday and Sunday, it went right through me, and I was hungry.
I did not let that stop me and the girls from enjoying the weekend, we had fun at the expo, played some mini golf and they swam in the pool and played on the beach.
My good Shamrock friend, Rebecca, nailed a PR in her half, then ran her first ever mary and conquered the King Neptune Challenge - way to go Rebecca you Ultra Mary Finisher :)
At home, the P90X3 workouts continued up to race weekend. I enjoy this routine. I will be switching to T25 Beta for a month because I really want to drop another 7-8 pounds. I will continue to run a few days a week and will look to add in some swimming once I return from a weekend getaway to Disney in early April with the ole lady.

I am looking to run another Half in June and considering the Steelman open water swim, but only the 1.5 mile this year. I really like swimming, but I just do not have time for the yardage necessary to feel good about a 3.1 mile swim. I do still need to figure out alpha to do the Swim Around Key West.

Nutrition, while nutrition was good for January and February, I feel out of bounds a but in March. I will be refocusing and starting up the 21 day Fix nutrition plan that I started back In January. It worked and was easy to follow.
Hope you all are sticking to a workout and nutrition plan.
