Blogging absence

I cannot believe that I haven't posted anything since March of last year, that is a lot of time to make up.

I had a nice summer of training and building a base for Fall, but I also gained a few too many pounds, like 20. As a result, my stress fractures came back in late August. I had to stop my training for my fall runs, actually even skipped one that I paid for.

I still ran my leg of the mary relay that I run with great friends, it is part of the VIA marathon - http://viamarathon.org.

I did not run the Yuengling Octoberfest 5K, but did make it there to cheer on some friends and share an after race beer :) http://www.oktoberfestrace.com

I did run the now infamous 2015 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon or Half of a Half Marathon. It was tough, I had not run since September and was hoping to just finish nice and easy, but then it was cut short and just ran until I couldn't. Of course I loved the after party in Epcot. It was really nice to have friends with us for this trip as that added to the fun. The girls and I did the 5K as well and had a blast.

I missed all of my December runs due to letting the leg heal. That included the following:

There is always next year.

I started 2016 with a slow build run training plan. It is going well but I really need to cut some pounds. I have improved my eating and stick to the clean diet 95% of the time. Results will come slow and will stick. I have also begun swimming 4 days a week as well, I miss swimming. I am still interested in attempting the Swim around Key West in the future - http://swimaroundkeywest.com

I also am in the 8th week of BodyBeast, building muscle :) I also ride the stationary bike while the girls are at swim practice, this way I do not feel like I am sitting around wasting time. Finally, I have started attending my Hot Yoga class on Wednesday evenings again at LV Yoga - http://www.lvyogastudio.com.

It is through a sow build and slow weight loss that I hope to remain injury free this year and enjoy my races with friends. I am very sad to tell you all that I will not be running the Shamrock - http://www.shamrockmarathon.com this year :( I will be going to PSU instead for YMCA swim state championships with the girls.

Only have 1 run planned for 2016 this year but will add more as I lose weight and feel better running again.

Best of luck to all.

Decide. Commit. Succeed.
